Milton Keynes, please take a moment. Your support could help young people learn to save a life.
The charity citizenAID has been working with Pink Punters for the past couple of years to bring emergency preparedness to Milton Keynes. Our Ready To Respond training uses the citizenAID system to help deliver lifesaving skills free of charge.
Pink Punters paramedic Joe McMahon, who has nearly 40 years’ experience in the emergency services, is asking people across Milton Keynes to support lifesaving education in schools. All it takes is an email to your MP.
The Emergency and Life-saving Skills (Schools) Bill is scheduled for its second reading on 16 October 2026. It is an opportunity to give young people the knowledge and confidence to help in an emergency.
Throughout his emergency services career, Joe has witnessed serious and fatal incidents where earlier intervention might have changed the outcome. That experience is why he feels so strongly about helping people develop potentially lifesaving skills.
Please take a few minutes to:
- Find your MP and ask them to support the Bill and the teaching of lifesaving skills, including how to stop severe bleeding.
- Read the Bill’s UK Parliament record.
- Share this article and encourage others to add their voices.
While we have been busy with the rebuild and working to reopen, we have been quieter about our continuing community safety work. Our commitment remains as strong as ever, including Stop the Bleed education and AED familiarisation.
Ready To Respond continues to be an important part of Pink Punters’ community safety strategy. Helping people protect themselves, their families and their communities remains at the heart of what we do.
Our young people can make a difference. Let’s help give them the skills.
